Howard is a self taught wood artist creating pieces that embody his lifelong love and respect for wood, with which he feels an almost spiritual connection.
Inspired by the beautiful mid Wales landscape he has always been intrigued by nature, trees and woodland. So to work with wood as an expression of his craftsmanship and creativity was an intuitive and natural decision.
Working largely with windblown trees, he makes pieces that honour their spirit and display their beauty. Without any preconceived ideas of style, form or function - Howard allows the wood itself to inspire and direct his design and creative process finding joy in the touch, colour and texture of the wood.
