Previous Commission

Inspired by Beate Gegenwart's fascination with language and communication through craft, this striking bowl is from a series made for an exhibition in Springfield, USA.

This beautifully crafted bowl made from steel, vitreous enamel, sgraffito with abraded layers, contrasts a rich back exterior with the characteristic soft grey/white interior marked with soft flowing lines and irregular shapes.

Inspired for her fascination with what lies between - the hollow centre a space for curiosity and innovation.
